ACCORDING TO NEW RESEARCH, LOVE CAN ACTUALLY OCCUR AT FIRST SIGHT, & IT HAPPENS WITHIN A FIFTH OF A SECOND!

Romantic feelings originate NOT in the heart, but in the BRAIN. When you fall in love, 12 areas of the brain sync up to release “happy” chemicals, & these chemicals induce feelings of euphoria in the brain’s cognitive centers.

The whole process occurs faster than you can even blink. Incredible.

NO….DON’T PANIC. LOL.

THE IRS NOW HAS A NEW APPROACH WITH AUDIT NOTIFICATIONS: AN UNEXPECTED PHONE CALL.

Notifications used to be sent by mail, & we weren’t caught quite so off guard. Here’s what you need to do if you ever get that call:

Take down the IRS agent’s contact information. Then say that you are represented-or will hire-a tax preparer or lawyer who will be in contact. THAT’S IT. SAY NO MORE.

Handling the call like this protects you in two ways. Some people say more than they should if they are caught off guard. Also, in some cases, calls like this could be a scam. It’s in YOUR BEST INTEREST NOT to supply the caller with any personal information.

This morning’s trivia on KOIT:

Q: Kishiwada, Japan is the sister city for which Bay Area town?

A:  South San Francisco

As you may know by now Lisa Daley and I have a friendly wager going on with the Giants/Phillies league championship about to start. She’s orange and black all the way. Having grown up in Philadelphia, I’ll be wearing red and white. If the Phils win, she owes me a crab sandwich from The Wharf, and I’ll buy her a cheesesteak if the Giants emerge victorious. Julie Shannon wisely remains neutral. Problem is, I haven’t really found an authentic cheesesteak since moving to the Bay Area more than 25 years ago. An ideas?

Now, THIS  is authentic:

NEW JEANS ARE USUALLY ONLY COMFORTABLE AFTER YOU’VE BROKEN THEM IN. SO HOW DO YOU SPEED UP THE BREAK-IN PROCESS.
ACCORDING TO LEVI’S–HERE’S HOW:

The first few times you wash a new pair, remove them from the dryer when they’re still damp, & wear them for a couple of hours.

As your body temperature warms the fabric, the jeans take the shape of your body. (Hopefully, it’s a good body) :)

FOR REALLY STIFF JEANS, skip the wash & just put them through a dryer cycle. Turn them inside-out, with 3 or 4 pairs of clean sneakers. The tumbling of the shoes breaks down starch that’s added to the fabric during manufacturing, & softens the jeans.

IF IT’S A FADED WASHED-OUT LOOK YOUR AFTER, add extra soap in the wash cycle. (just make sure it’s not color-safe detergent).

I KNOW….SOUNDS BIZARRE. A FINDING BY ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY SAYS THAT…..

A medicine cabinet is about the worst place to keep pills. The temperature & humidity changes in the bathroom can make them “sweat” & melt. It’s best to keep them in acool dry place.

AND

YOU KNOW THAT COTTON IN A BOTTLE OF PAIN RELIEVER THAT YOU HAVE TO DID & PINCH AT TO GET THE PILLS?

Go ahead & throw it out. It’s only in there to protect the pills during shipping. And don’t just jam it over to the side, take it all the way out.. That cotton absorbs moisture once the bottle has been opened & can damage the goods.
